Grand Canyon National Park, in Arizona, is home to much of the immense Grand Canyon, with its layered bands of red rock revealing millions of years of geological history. Grand Canyon overwhelms our senses through its immense size and to me it was a spiritual experience. In this project the layers of complex rock formation is captured as an abstraction to share my experience.
About Shankar Adiseshan
Shankar Adiseshan born in India is a Canadian artist known for his captivating exploration of abstract photography, utilizing intricate camera techniques such as multiple exposure and long exposure to craft evocative imagery. His work transcends the realm of traditional photography, focusing on the interpretation of emotions rather than merely documenting subjects. I love horizons layered on one another, receding into the mist. The rays of light and unmistakable shapes of rocky buttes and mesas make what is almost a natural abstract instantly recognizable as being from the American Southwest. This is one of my two pod's in the Best of Minimalism in Photography group for March 13.
